A site I found which shows off a lot of the Swiss architecture that inspired me. These images were stuck in my mind while designing the interiors and exteriors of the castle. What particularly struck me is that all of these constructions seem to be built on some kind of mountainous terrain with beautiful landscapes to admire.
I have been lucky enough to visit some of these places while living in Switzerland. “Chateau de Chillon” is very near where I live back home. I went there many times and it links very closely to my project because the poet Lord Byron -- who had a big hand in the writing of Mary Shelley’s book “Frankenstein” -- stayed there for 4 months.
